one time i use to shoe most of the carriage horses that worked the Stevens Green in Dublin they were a doddle to shoe ,They all were done cold
i think i have seen numbers burned into the English Army horses some of them any way

i would say there could be up to a 100 farriers in 30 miles of me in the small town im in there are 5 farriers
If they are not there to shoe you cant do anything about it
i think if you were good in both areas of the job you would get more work;)
