Yep, and the fact that there is too big a jump between certain sizes... a 5 is way too small and a 6 is way to big etc...
Just as you and Dave said... my first thought was "Oh Sh1t!"and then "I hope they don't think I can get a shoe on that..."
For some feet my hand made shoes are no better than machine mades, for others they are. I don't think that just because a shoe is machine made...
I told the guy there was nothing to nail to so there was no way to get a shoe on it. He was pretty keen for it to play again the next day and...

They had it x-rayed and vet diagnosed 'avulsion fracture of the extensor process'. He said that he would have recommended bar shoes for it anyway, so...
